Gratitude and Appreciation

NepSA wholeheartly appreciates the immense support from TUFSA members, MIA, SenTIA, HARU members, and the student volunteers from Tohoku University and Nepali students living in Sendai, whose immense support made the information gathering event at Hagi Hall, a success. The event was hold to gather information from all supporting organizations in the relief work for the victims of April 25th and May 12th Nepal Earthquake. During the event, Mr. Sumit Maharjan, presented on the situation after the two earthquakes, donation collection (in collaboration with TUFSA, MIA, SenTIA and Nepali students living in Sendai) and the kind of support for which the donation by the People of Sendai was used. The supports to Nepal by NepSA are as follows:
Temporary Shelters 仮設住宅について
An amount of JPY 549,999.00 was sent to a group of engineering student volunteers, led by Ayush Acharya at Kathmandu, to support and build temporary shelters for earthquake victims at Shikaartaar Ward: 12 , Bhaktapur. NepSA thanks Aashish Acharya for donating JPY 50,000 to this support. Bhaktapur 地方 Shikaataar村の被災者を支援し仮設シェルター を建設するため、カトマンズの Ayush Acharya 氏の主導に より学生ボランティアを通じて 54 万 9999 円が送られまし た。Aashish Acharya の寄付に感謝します。
Support to Schools 現地の各学校への寄付について
JPY 600,000.00 was transferred to the bank accounts of four different high schools (Janata Uchcha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Aanppipal, Gorkha; Shree Sundari Higher Secondary School, Chhapthok, Dhading; Shree Rajeshwori Higher Secondary School, Sigapokhare, Sindhupalchok; and Shree Bindu Keshar Uchcha Madhyamik Bidhyalaya, Samari, Nuwakot) to support for rebuilding school. JPY 250,000.00 was transferred to bank account of Jana Chetana Primary School, Aanppipal, Gorkha for building construction. 校舎の再建のために、4 つの高校に 60 万円、1 つの小学校 に 25 万円が寄付されました。
Support for Educational Materials 学校教材の支援
An amount of JPY 250,000.00 will be transferred to Hamro Pahunch (Our Access), an NGO in Gorkha District to support for various educational materials by the first week of July, 2015. 2015 年 7 月の第一週目に、様々な学校教材の支援のために Gorkha 地方の NGO に 25 万円が寄付される予定です。
NepSA has been regularly in contact with the contact personal residing in Nepal, who are taking care of the support provided and giving us updates on regular basis. Recently, Hamro Pahunch (Our Access) mailed us the details of the activities carried out with the support by NepSA. The activities were as follows:
Protection-01 (Orientation on Human Trafficking): The activity was carried out at the Paluntar Municipality-3 at Shree Jiban Jyoti Higher Secondary School, School Hall on 06th September, 2015, and was targeted specially for the High School students. Objectives of the activity were 1) to understand the knowledge level on the human trafficking, and 2) to aware youth about the Human Trafficking and safer migration.

Education-01 (Education Support Program): Distribution of education support to a target group of students of class 1 to 10 from Paluntar Municipality wards 1, 2 and 3 was carried out at the premise of Shree Jiban Jyoti HSS on 15th September, 2015, the National Child Day-2072 B.S. Educational support package was distributed to 57 students from different schools of Paluntar 1-3.
Wash-01 (Health and Hygiene Material Distribution and Awareness Program): Distribution of sanitary pad to all the students (girls: ~450 students) of Lower Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of Paluntar Municipality wards 1, 2 and 3 was carried out at the premise of Shree Jiban Jyoti HSS on 15th September, 2015, the National Child Day-2072 B.S. Hand soaps to all the students (~1500 students) of participant 7 schools were distributed during the event. The event was hold 1) to aware students about the importance of Hand Washing, and 2) to help students (girls) to continue the school activities despite the Menstrual period.
Protection-02 (Awareness about Human Trafficking through Sticker): With objectives to 1) aware people about Human Trafficking, and 2) advocate on the prevention of the Human Trafficking, the awareness activities by distributing the information in the form of well-printed stickers (~1000 stickers) to all the Public Vehicles on 1st October, 2015 at Gorkha Buspark on the presence of CDO of Gorkha.
